We want to use this Mental Health Awareness Week to celebrate the power and importance of community.

Being part of a safe, positive community is vital for our mental health and wellbeing. We thrive when we have strong connections with other people and supportive communities that remind us, we are not alone. Communities can provide a sense of belonging, safety, support in hard times, and give us a sense purpose.

This week the children will be completing various activities thinking about what we do as a school to be part of our community, not just in school but all around us. For this reason the children have decided that on Friday we will be asking every child (if they can) to donate an item for the community food bank.

We would like to be able to put together several parcels so below is an example - just think with 200 children in school bringing just 1 item what we could do!!

A typical food bank parcel usually contains items that can support a person for three days, with the goal of providing a balanced and nutritious meal plan. These parcels often include staples like cereals, pasta, rice, and canned goods such as soup, beans, meat, and vegetables. In addition, they may include items like UHT milk, tea, coffee, biscuits, and snacks

Thank you as always for your support.
