Governing Body Composition:

I’m delighted to welcome you and your child to Ashton St Wilfrid’s Catholic Primary School – it’s a great school with a friendly atmosphere where we value everyone and want to support the children as they grow in knowledge, experience and faith.  The school’s governing body is made up of people your child is likely to see in school, church or at social events and it’s our job to work with senior managers to set the strategic direction and policies for St Wilfrid’s.  We approve the budget and are involved with appointing teachers.  As a parent, your first port of call for any issues about your child should always be the class teacher – probably at the end of the day rather than in the morning rush.  Governors may get involved if matters become more serious, but always speak to the teacher about your child.  We are all volunteers and although we attend training courses and have regular meetings, we do not get paid for our work.  Thanks for supporting us to support your child at St Wilfrid’s.
